For tech arts we are doing sewing. So far this year I have made a sweatshirt, a pair of slippers, a beanie, and am now working on another pair of slippers. We are using knitted polyester fabric. Did you know polyester fabric is made from soft drink bottles? After you chuck them into the recycling, they get separated from other bottles and things. They then get transported to Thailand, where they are melted and turned into thread, which is then knitted to make the fabric you know as polyester.
Remember, never dry clean polyester or put it in the dryer. It is plastic, so it does melt. And definitely don't get too close to that fire or heater- it may melt onto your skin-ugh!
